What is Truemed?

Truemed is a payment platform that helps qualified customers use Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds on eligible purchases.

Customers shop directly with participating businesses, while Truemed enables compliant HSA/FSA payment by coordinating independent practitioner evaluation and Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) documentation.

What is the benefit of using HSA/FSA funds?

HSA/FSA funds were created so individuals could use pre-tax money to pay for expenses used to treat, mitigate or prevent a diagnosed medical condition.

Since HSA/FSA funds use pre-tax money, you are able to get more purchasing power with your wellness budget vs. paying taxes on your income and then paying out of pocket for eligible expenses.

Three Easy Steps to Reimbursement

Make your purchase

Pay as you normally do with check or credit card, in-studio or online. Do not pay with an HSA/FSA card during checkout. Check your receipt email for a link to the Truemed Survey or click here.

Complete Health Assessment

Take your private health survey. A licensed practitioner will review your answers to determine eligibility. If approved, you'll receive a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN).

Submit for HSA/FSA reimbursement

Follow the instructions included with your LMN to submit your purchase for reimbursement. Exact timing of reimbursement depends on your HSA/FSA administrator.

There is a small fee ($20) for the health survey, paid directly to Truemed.

Your Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) covers a full year of eligible purchases.

You only need to complete the health survey once a year, not every time you purchase.
